Former Philadelphia Phillies catcher Chris Coste made an appearance for the Brewers over the weekend and his first hit with the squad was a home run. Coste has plans to continue working out with the team as he comes back from Tommy John surgery. The 38-year-old Fargo native has been doing television commentary for the Phillies and has not played since 2009. His last contract with the Nationals ended after he suffered an elbow injury during Spring Training in 2010. Coste lives in Fargo and the team is excited for the opportunity to play with a player of Coste's caliber...

The former Concordia College standout and Northern League All-Star with the Redhawks worked his way up through the minors and eventually made a big splash with the Philadelphia Phillies, helping them to a World Series title in 2008. Coste's journeyman career is inspiration to all players and his experiences are chronicled in his best-selling book "33 Year Old Rookie". Besides his impressive professional resume, Coste also has roots playing amateur baseball in Minnesota. He led the Glyndon Braves to a runner-up finish in the 1995 Class C Tournament.. Thanks for playing with us, Chris!
