Moorhead Brewers

Mike Peschel was invted to play on the "St. Cloud Selects" all-star amateur team to play the Team USA 18U team (featuring the top 18 and under players in the nation) at Faber Field in St. Cloud on a beautiful Monday night. Mike represented well, going 1-2 at the plate in that game and then 1-2 the following day vs. Chinese Taipei.

The Selects team lost 3-0 to USA and 6-4 to Taipei. Against Team USA, Zach Femrite was the starting pitcher for the Selects and he threw well, but the Selects had 3 costly errors which led to 2 unearned runs. The talent on Team USA was stunning. The closer Lance McCullers from Tampa (who is 16 years old-pictured right) hit 99mph!  To see who played, take a look at the Box score.

The game was competitive, but Team USA's pitching was superb.
