The Brewers suffered a first round knockout to the Plato Blue Jays at the state tournament in Hamburg. Plato jumped on starting pitcher Brock Gnadt in the first inning for 2 runs and the Brewers offense was unable to respond. Unfortunately the team was without its full squad and it showed. Chris Clemenson had 2 of the team's 4 hits and the final tally was 5-0. The team was very disappointed to lose in convincing fashion. It was the 3rd straight one-and-done at the state tournament and definitely put a damper on an otherwise successful season.
The Brewers overall record finished at 27-15 for a total of 42 games played, the most of any Brewer season so far. At one point, it appeared the team should reach the 30 win mark easily, but a lot of losses piled up toward the end of the season...The Brew Crew just petered out.
