Brewers Upset Expos Debut

The area's newest amateur club made its debut on Wednesday night against the Brewers in opening action of the West Central League.  Sporting brand-spankin-new uni's, the Expos looked pretty sharp and gave the Brewers a test.  Gabe Shockman returned from Morningside College to take the mound for the Brew Crew and pitched well.  A 2-out, 2-run bloop single in the 5th inning gave the Expos a temporary lead.  The Brewers regained the lead with Jeremy Peschel's 2-run double in the 8th inning.  Mike Peschel struck out 5 in 3 innings of relief to shut down any potential Expos threat.  Game Summary/ Box Score

Brewers Dominate Carlos

In previous action, the Brewers took a road trip to Carlos to face their old teammate Jack Chapin.  The Brewers got 4 solid innings out of starter Brook Lyter who allowed only one hit while striking out 5 and zero walks.  Chris Clemenson hit his first home run of the season, a 3-run shot that carried over the left field fence.

AJ Stoffels went 2-4 for 3 runs scored.  On Monday AJ learned he would be moving to Atlanta for a job opportunity.  In his short stint for the Brewers, AJ had left a big impression and will be sorely missed this season.
