Off to a good start in pool play! The Brewers made the trip to Scottsdale Stadium, a georgous ballpark, spring training home to the San Francisco Giants for an early 8:30 game against the New York Iron Horse. Chris Clemenson paced the Brewers in this game, going 3 for 3 with 2 rbi's. Aaron Olson hit a 3 run homerun over the left field wall and Todd Fuller pitched a complete game to give the Brewers the win.
In game 2, the Brewers came from behind to beat the San Diego Stars. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th, the Brew Crew busted out for 4 runs and eventually tacked on 2 more insurance runs. Both teams suffered from the umpire's unusual tight zone and the opposing manager was tossed. Andy Gibart pitched a complete game and give him a lot of credit for pitching in 105 degree heat.
Tomorrow the Brewers will play 2 more games, 8:00am vs. Denver Red Sox and 11:30am vs. Boston Rockies at Maryvale Complex, home of the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners spring training camps...Both opponents are experienced teams in the NABA World Series.
