GAME SUMMARY |
After beating the Ada A's in the opening round of the 2010 Border Battle the Brewers met the Jamestown Elks in the semifinals. The Elks scored a run in the top of the 3rd inning to take an early lead. Their advantage would be short-lived as the Brewers would rally with 2 outs in the bottom half of the inning. Lead-off hitter Tim Jallen drew a 2 out walk and would score from first as Mike Peschel's double found the gap in right center. Ryan Olson provided the big blow with a line smash off the scoreboard for a 2-run homer. Neither team would score the rest of the way thanks to a strong outing by Brewer starting pitcher Kyle Kingsley. The Brewer rookie went the distance striking out 5 Elks while allowing 1 ER on 3 hits. With the 3-1 win the Brewers advanced to Sunday's championship game opposite the Midway Snurdbirds. |
