| GAME SUMMARY |
| After dispatching the Muskies the Brewers faced the hosts from Ada with a berth in the MN Class C tournament on the line Saturday evening. The A's got on the board quickly in the top of the 1st scoring 2 runs off Brewer starter Kyle Kingsley. Their lead was extended to 5-0 in the 4th inning helped by a Brewer miscue in the field. The Brewers finally showed some life in the bottom of the inning as Mike Peschel's one out single was followed by Chris Clemenson reaching by HBP. Back to back RBI singles by Ryan Olson and Josh Dietz cut the A's lead to 5-2. A 4 run 6th by Ada pushed their advantage to 9-2 after a grand slam and the game looked to be in hand. That score would remain unchanged until the Brewers came up in the bottom of the 9th. Olson singled to lead off the 9th followed by a deep double off the bat of Dietz to score Olson. A pinch hit single to center by Tim Jallen plated Dietz and the score was 9-4. Matt Oye's single after a strikeout brought Jeremy Peschel to the dish and JP crushed a double to the gap in right center to bring in Oye and Jallen making the score 9-6. After a pitching change Mike Peschel greeted the A's reliever with a line double driving in JP and the Brewers had the tying run to the plate and the A's on their heels. A base on balls to Dingmann put 2 runners on and the potential winning run up with 2 outs. The miracle comeback was not to be as a harmless dribbler to the third baseman for a force out ended the game and sent the A's to state. After the gutty 9th inning rally came up short the Brewers will return to Ada on Saturday to face the Moorhead Expos at 1pm. It is win or go home for both Moorhead squads in their 6th meeting of the season. |
