GAME SUMMARY
Charlie Brown Memorial Field was the setting for the Brewers game on Wednesday night opposite the Saints of Valley City. The Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the 1st inning as they brought the lumber out early. The Brewers cut the lead to 3-2 after Todd Fuller tripled to the right center gap to score Ryan Olson. Fuller later scored on a passed ball. The Saints came right back to score another run to make it 4-2. Brewer starter Matt Bowar settled in from there and shut the Saints down. Josh Dietz doubled to lead off the Brewer 4th and was doubled in by Olson. Matt Oye's single brought in Olson to knot the contest 4-4. From there the Brewers battered Saint pitching for 3 runs in the 6th and 5 runs in the 7th to put the game away. Veteran Jason Drake replaced an injured Dale Dingmann and proceeded to collect 3 hits on the night including a pair of 2 RBI singles. A 17-hit attack by the Brewers saw Olson, Drake, and Oye each enjoy 3-hit games. Tom Fuchs and brothers Peschel chipped in 2 each. Riding a 6 game win streak the Brewers host their annual Border Battle Tournament in Wahpeton starting Friday night. The 8-team tourney includes the Brewers and Expos from Moorhead, the Elks and Merchants from Jamestown, the Valley City Saints, Fergus Falls Hurricanes, Ada A's, and the Midway Snurdbirds.
