| GAME SUMMARY |
| The Brewers and Merchants met in a rescheduled game on Thursday night at Matson Field with the Brewers coming out ahead by a score of 3-1. Starting Brewer pitcher Todd Fuller had an excellent outing as he went 7 strong innings on the hill allowing a single run while scattering 5 hits. The veteran lefthander held the Merchants without a hit until the 4th stanza and struck out 7 on the night ending 4 innings via strikeout. The game was scoreless until the Brewers broke through in the top of the 6th as Chris Clemenson, Mike Peschel, and Bake Turbac each singled to load the bases to start the inning. After a liner to center failed to score a run Fuller's single to right plated Clemenson. Matt Oye's single brought in Peschel and Turbac to make the score 3-0. Clemenson came in relief of Fuller in the 8th to put away the Merchants in the final 2 innings to earn the save. The Brewers had 10 hits off Merchants pitchers with Clemenson, Turbac, Fuller, and Oye with 2 hits apiece. Next action for the Brewers is a Sunday afternoon trip to Fergus Falls to face the Canes in a 2pm battle at DeLagoon Park. |
