GAME SUMMARY
The Brewers opened pool play at the Coors Light Classic against the Cold Spring Springers on Friday night in Jordan. The Springers grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st but the Brewers drew even in the bottom of the 2nd after Todd Fuller's 2-out single brought home Dale Dingmann. The Brewers then went ahead in the bottom of the 3rd when Jeremy Peschel led off with a bunt single and was then moved to second by a SAC bunt by Matt Oye. Mike Peschel drove in Jeremy with a double to right center to make it 2-1. After an infield pop up Chris Coste put the Brewers ahead 4-1 with a 2-run homer to left. The Springers cut the lead to 4-2 with a single tally in the 4th inning and it stayed that way until the home half of the 5th when Ryan Olson and Coste each came through in the clutch with 2-out RBI singles to push the lead to 6-2. Brewer starting pitch Jason Beilke pitched 6 strong innings and limited the Springers' damage to single runs in a couple innings by working out of jams. He struck out 3 and allowed 5 hits. Mike Peschel relieved Beilke in the top of the 7th and earned the save staving off a Springer rally by picking off 2 runners on the bases and the Brewers came away with a 6-4 victory.
