| GAME SUMMARY |
| The Brewers met the Fergus Falls Hurricanes for the first time this season on Sunday at DeLagoon Park. Veteran southpaw Brook Lyter started on the mound for the Brewers and baffled the Canes early in the contest holding them without a hit through 3 complete innings. Meanwhile the Brewer offense struck in the top of the 2nd with some clutch 2-out hitting from Tom Fuchs and Todd Fuller. Chris Clemenson's line smash double past the 3rd baseman started the inning and after 2 ground outs in the infield Fuchs drove in Clemenson with a single to right. Fuller then brought home Fuchs with long double to the gap in right center and the Brewers led 2-0. The Canes came back with 2 runs of their own to tie the game in the bottom of the 5th. The Brewers regained the lead in the top of the 6th as Fuller swiped home on a nicely executed double steal with runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Fergus Falls rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead for good at 4-3. The Brewers went down in order in the last 2 frames and the Canes came away with a 4-3 victory. Next action for the Brewers is Wednesday night either hosting the Mayville RedCaps or on the road in Mayville as game location was not determined at press time. |
