| GAME SUMMARY |
| The Brewers season hung in the balance as the faced the Cold Spring Springers in a win or go home tilt in the Section 7B tournament in Cold Spring on Saturday evening. Mike Peschel singled with one away in the bottom of the 1st inning and scored on Chris Clemenson's towering blast over the left centerfield fence off Springer starting pitcher Zach Femrite to put the Brewers ahead 2-0. The score remained that way through 6 innings complete as Mike Peschel kept the Springers at bay when the rain poured down and the game was suspended with the score 2-0 in favor of the Brewers. The game resumed Sunday at noon in the top of the 7th inning with Peschel grabbing the game ball to finish what he started. The Brewer lefty worked out of a 1-out bases loaded jam in the top of the 8th after the Brewers expanded their lead to 4-0. Peschel held the Springers to 3 hits in the CG shutout and struck out 8. The win vaulted the Brewers on to a SuperSection berth and halted the Springers record streak of MN State Tournament appearances that dated back to 1988. |
