GAME SUMMARY
The Brewers faced the Cold Spring Springers in the first round of the 7B Section tournament on Friday night in Cold Spring. The Springers gained the early advantage scoring a run in the bottom of the 2nd and held the 1-0 lead until the top of the 8th inning. Todd Fuller started the rally with a base hit and moved into scoring position on a passed ball. Mike Peschel drove in Fuller to tie the game with a single and next batter Chris Coste plated Peschel with a double to the right center gap to put the Brewers ahead 2-1. The Brewers tallied an insurance run in the top of the 9th to provide the final 3-1 margin of victory. Jason Beilke started on the mound for the Brewers and held the Springers to 1 ER in 6 innings of work while striking out 4. Tom Fuchs and Chris Clemenson each pitched scoreless innings to bridge to closer Mike Peschel who came in the 9th to shut the door on Cold Spring working out of trouble to nail down the save. Chris Coste and Chris Clemenson each had 2 hits on the evening to pace the Brewers 9 hit attack. With the win the Brewers move on in the winner's bracket to face the Sauk Rapids Cyclones Saturday afternoon.
